E-Cigarette or electronic cigarette is battery-powered handheld vaporizer known to stimulate smoking. Electronic cigarette like the traditional cigarette possesses similar mediums of consumption. Which includes the hand-to-mouth action of smoking, but without the actual burning of tobacco. Michigan: The States Take on Flavored Vaping Products

The state of Michigan spearheaded by its governor Gretchen Whitmer’s is working to put an end to the consumption of vaping products. This is because of the increased consumption of this product by children.

With all this bad vibe, surrounding the vaping of e-cigarettes, San Francisco officially became the first city in the United States to ban the sales of all e-cigarette flavored products. As a result, many other cities are gradually following suit with Boulder, Colorado in association with its lawmakers making a statement too by equally imposing a ban as well.

 

Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Take on E-Cigarettes

Having critically analyzed the use of E-Cigarettes and its devastating effects on the health of the vaper, Governor Whitmer has decided to enforce a ban on the sales of flavored vaping products in both stores and online shops. In addition to the proposed ban, the Governor insists any advertising or marketing of E-Cigarettes related products that uses terms like “clean,” “safe,” or “healthy,” isn’t encourages by the state health officials.

In collaboration with the Governor’s decision, her spokesperson Tiffany Brown opined that, the new rules on flavored vaping products would be in place within weeks. As a result, businesses will be given at least a month to be on board.

Public Outcry on E-Cigarette

Over the last couple of months, a wide array of agencies partnered with public health have tabled life-threatening illnessess. All of which are affiliated to vaping, with one casualty recorded in the state of Illinois. Months after San Francisco went down as the first American city to ban the sale of the products, attorney generals of both Milwaukee and Illinois, have both made declarations about staying clear off e-cigarettes.

Health Risks of Vaping E-Cigarettes

When it comes to the health risks associated with the vaping of E-Cigarettes, a study carried out in 2016 at the University of Connecticut opines that: like tobacco, E-Cigarettes similar damages to the lungs DNA. Because of this change, the vaper stands a greater risk of cancer.
