Colorado’s Educational Initiative for Aspiring Social Equity Entrepreneurs within Cannabis Industry

Colorado’s Cannabis Business Office (CBO) is set to launch an educational initiative aimed at providing support to social equity entrepreneurs within the marijuana industry. The program, named CannaBusiness Growth, is developed in collaboration with Vangst, a Denver-based job platform specializing in the cannabis sector. Comprising over 50 modules, CannaBusiness Growth covers a range of topics including compliance, finance, sales, and marketing, as outlined in a recent news release.

Vangst CEO, Karson Humiston, emphasized the significance of bridging the knowledge gap between industry professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs. Humiston stated, “Bridging the knowledge gap between industry professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs is what we do best at Vangst, and it’s clear that the industry needs to support organizations like the CBO to enhance equity in the cannabis sector.”

The CBO, established in July 2021, operates as part of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. In a notable development last October, the CBO disbursed its inaugural two loans to social equity operators in the Colorado marijuana sector through its Cannabis Business Loan Program.
